There are five degrees of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property. The degree is determined by elements such as the value and nature of the property stolen.

knowingly possessing stolen property.

  • Knowingly possessing stolen property:
  • Worth more than $1,000,
  • That is a credit card, debit card or public benefit card,
  • When the defendant is a collateral loan broker or property dealer,
  • That is an automobile worth more than $100,
  • That is a religious object worth more than $100, or
  • That is anhydrous ammonia or liquefied ammonia gas in order to manufacture methamphetamine.

Knowingly possessing stolen property worth more than $3,000.

Knowingly possessing stolen property worth more than $50,000.

Knowingly possessing stolen property worth more than $1,000,000.
