Larceny

There are five degrees of Larceny. The degree is determined by elements such as the value and nature of the property stolen, as well as the manner in which the property is stolen.

Stealing:

  • Property worth more than $1,000,
  • A public record,
  • Secret scientific material,
  • A credit card or debit card,
  • Property from a person,
  • Property by extortion,
  • A firearm, rifle or shotgun,
  • An automobile worth more than $100,
  • A religious object worth more than $100,
  • A telephone calling card, or
  • Anhydrous ammonia or liquefied ammonia gas in order to manufacture methamphetamine.

Stealing property worth more than $3,000.

Stealing property:

  • Worth more than $50,000, or
  • By extortion.

Stealing property worth more than $1,000,000.
